Nursing Informatics
e-Learning Module

Background
Informatics competencies of nurse practitioners (NPs) are poorly defined due to a lack of studies. However, limited evidence suggests that NPs may need to improve their knowledge and skills in nursing informatics (NI).
Purpose
The primary purpose of the research study is to determine whether NPs can expand their NI competencies through an e-learning module in nursing informatics.
Target Population
Nurse practitioners, including student NPs
Project Implementation

Study Participation
Participation is entirely voluntary. Survey responses are anonymous.
Measurement Tool Permission
Permission to use the Self-Assessment of Informatics Competency Scale for Health Professionals was obtained from Sunmoo Yoon, RN, PhD, MS (Columbia University) on June 18, 2020.
Institutional Review Board
Institutional Review Board (IRB) from the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) approved the project with an Active - Exempt research status (IRB Project Number 2026562).
